I’ll just add here that Hitler had a third “weapon” in his arsenal which was free flights from Lufthansa. He used them to organize rallies across the country where he’d descend out of the sky, do his mic-and-PA thing, then disappear like Elijah.

Before Hitler, politicians would make very rare “whistle stop” tours via train and were mostly getting their message out to the masses via the newspaper. With Hitler, people got to actually SEE and HEAR him.
