You keep saying “newsrooms around the world” as if there were rooms full of editors and writers around the globe frantically working to put together news for their audiences. This simply isn’t how it works at all.
Usually, all non-local (i.e. foreign) news is simply purchased on an a-la-carte basis from one of three “wire services” — each story comes complete with video AND text. It’s then translated (if necessary) and published/broadcast as-is without any “investigation” or editorial insertion whatsoever.
Note: Australia’s public TV news channel definitely does this.
