Facebook’s News Literacy Advice Is Harmful to News Literacy
Mike Caulfield

You know what’s naive? Believing FB when they say that they want to stop fake news. Why would they? The more you click, the more you repost, the more outraged you get, the more time you spend on FB.

Facebook has ZERO intention of stopping or even slowing down fake news. Their only intention here is to get people to believe that they’re trustworthy. Media caused outrage about fake news? Fine, here’s our BS effort to stop it. Now go write about something else and let us milk the online habits of millions of people for profit.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
