Healthiest at the Office!

“Crushing” It, Wholesomely — Part 1

As we [self made entrepreneurs] prepare to dominate 2014 with unprecedented growth, overcome insurmountable odds, and relentlessly capture huge shares of our expanding markets, hard work may inevitably take its toll. If it means eating, drinking, and sleeping at our office, so be it. This is something that we are all more than prepared to live with because we not only thrive on the thought of possibility, but are collectively inspired, enthused, and to quote Gary Vaynurchuk of Vaynermedia, we “love to hustle”. Living at the office however doesn't have to mean giving up your healthy lifestyle. Here is my attempt at helping you stay on top of your health so that you can keep scoring at the top of your game.

Super Cheap, Super Charged, Added Value

Green leafy vegetables and a Blender

Kale, Collared Greens, Swiss chard; why not have them in your office? How often have you purchased these vegetables at your supermarket and consumed them raw in all their glory? While they are super nutrient dense, they are very low in calories so you can get your nutrition without the fat. The magnesium content alone in these powerhouses are worth while just for muscle and brain power. Magnesium by the way is a top selling supplement for stress and sleep, key components of success wouldn't you agree? They are alkaline against acidity (to those meat and potato work horses), and they are are a great source of fiber to help with the ‘ol healthy bowel movements at the office. Basically, you’d be detoxing as you’re reading this! They are absolutely available everywhere and they are inexpensive even if they are organic. Kale is regularly about $1.5-$2.00 per huge bushel and even at organic you will be looking at around $4-$5.00, which is nothing! Believe me, each bushel will make you at least one gallon of green smoothie without question; a worth while investment for yourself and your staff. Store green leafy vegetables in your office refrigerator instead of whatever other crap you have in there (plus some banana/fruit).

What Your Office Needs

A Blender (capable of blending greens)

If you love southern (US) cooking, then you may regularly eat greens, but at the same time, you’ll consume loads of salt, loads of butter, and you’ll cook the crap out of them. For the rest of us, we seldom eat greens at all, let alone raw and it’s a shame because that’s where many of their health benefits are. The secret is in the blender. You can’t use a regular kitchen blender as the motor isn’t powerful enough to really blend the leaves into something edible, but if you use a commercial blender like the Vitamix (approx. $500) or Blendtec (approx. $400), etc., not only will you have a nice tax deduction on your hands as an office expense, but these blenders will liquify the greens so that you and your staff can enjoy them as part of your favourite smoothie, right there at the office.

Recipe

Green of choice (about a palm full)+ 1 Banana + water to make 1L of smoothie.

Throw in the green of choice plus a little water and 1 banana. Blend on high until everything liquefies. Then add water to make 1 L and serve cold with ice. Share with all of your colleagues as sharing is caring.

If this helped your office in any way, I would be so grateful if you hit the recommend button.
