A few anecdotes from my first day with the Apple Watch
- My kids love the jellyfish watch face. I love the jellyfish watch face. I sometimes look at my watch just to see them float by.
- I think they need more watch faces.
- The watch totally changes everything about notifications and it’s the thing I struggle with most. Just showing all the notifications on my phone on the watch doesn’t work. Not sure what the right answer will be.
- I’m still trying to figure out the role of the watch. I thought it would be for notifications, but the one that I’m leaning towards is a “remote control”. I like simple things like being able to snooze/dismiss my alarms or phone calls without having to take out my phone. Uber is like a remote control. And of course, there is the actual remote control for my Apple TV.
- I love the link bracelet watch band. It is beautiful and I think it is the best looking of all the bands. I like how the links click and unclick together like lego pieces. But one downside is that given the band needs to be snug on your wrist for the sensors on the back to work, snapping the link bracelet closed sometimes catches some arm hairs or pinches the skin, which is not pleasant.
- Walt was right about sleeves.
I’ll write more later as I learn how to use this newfangled device from the future, but may take some time before I figure it out.
NOTE: This is my first post on Medium! I’ve been thinking about it for a while, but MG’s recent response to Ev inspired me to give it a go. FWIW, I do like the direction that Medium heading.
