What A Game!
We made the trip out to Denver to watch the Broncos take on the Los Angeles Chargers. What a fun game that was, the Broncos ended up winning that match up 24–21. You can watch video highlights of it here (https://goo.gl/RGfwfE) if you care. Trevor Siemian threw for 220 yards and 2 touchdowns and looked pretty good overall. It’s my goal to make at least 2 more games this year at mile high Stadium before the winter hits and Denver turns into a freezer!
Post-Game Party
As you can imagine, when your team wins you celebrate! After the game, me and the wife headed to boulder to go drink at The Bitter Bar for the night. We started with beers at the football game, but by the time we got to The Bitter Bar we were buying shots and drinking pretty heavy. I went from Bud Light to Vodka Red Bulls within an hour of being there and didn’t turn back after that. We closed the bar out and headed back to our hotel for the night. The next morning was painful!
The Morning After
I get it, it was week 1 in the NFL and there really was no reason to celebrate the Broncos win like we did except for that football season is back and what better reason do we need to party the night away. The problem is never the party, the problem is always the morning after. The always dreadful day after the big game. We woke up and got checked out of our hotel in time to hit the road early, or at least before noon. This drive was going to be brutal and I needed something to take this harsh edge off in a major way. What better way to cure a hangover than with some legal marijuana edibles. I had forgotten that Colorado had passed the law to legalize marijuana for recreational use. We had to make a stop on our way out of Boulder to get something “to eat”.
Colorado Dispensary
Before we headed out we stopped in Boulder to visit a Colorado Dispensary. We had asked some locals we met while getting breakfast where they would recommend we go and the majority ruled that Helping Hands Dispensary was the best dispensary in Colorado. Well, they did not disappoint. When we walked in we were greeted by a friendly staff of consumers that walked us through the process of recreational weed consumption, the laws, and provided great suggestions for edibles and strains. That was a ton of fun!
The Drive Home
The Broncos winning was the highlight of the trip, buying edibles from Helping Hands was the second best part of the trip. We were ready to roll, we had a pretty serious drive ahead of us and the edibles helped relax us for it. We made it home in time to get a good nights sleep and prepare for the work day ahead. Fun trip for sure!
Next Broncos Game
The Broncos play the Cowboys in week 2. We will probably try to make it however for the Patriots game on November 12th in Denver. It will be cold, but what a game that will be. A real AFC battle that may have playoff implications moving into December. The Patriots are the team to beat in the AFC and Trevor Siemian vs. Tom Brady will be a quarterback battle to watch going into the playoffs.
Broncos Season
I am guessing the Denver Broncos finish the 2017 NFL season with a record of 14–2 and battle the New England Patriots in the playoffs for a shot at the Super Bowl. We still have a long season ahead but I think that the Broncos have a real chance this year at bringing home the Lombardi Trophy!
