Mornings

Mornings are hard.
Mornings with depression is even harder.
Sounds are louder. The sun is too bright. Morning stretches last an hour, just for the chance to not ache.

When you’re on an upswing, mornings aren’t so bad.
Dragging yourself out of bed becomes slipping out of bed. 
Welcoming the sun with open arms is simple. Your body isn’t tense, your body doesn’t hurt.

The kind of morning you have isn’t predictable.
You never know what to expect when you rise and shine.
Or maybe you just awake and survive.
