SATURDAY MORNING

I was getting up at 4 am to take the first train to Zurich to shoot photos while most of Zurich was still sleeping. I spent around 2 hours in Zurich city and I took a lot of photos (not that happy with the results. It was one of the first times I tried night photography). On my way back to the Zurich main station, I saw that in 5 minutes a train will leave for Uetliberg. Because I had nothing to do for the rest of the day, I was spontaneous enough to take that train. A great advantage of having the “General Subscription” from the public transportation in Switzerland is, that you can get on any train without getting an additional ticket. Therefore it was easily possible to get to the platform on time. On the way to the top of Zurich — Uetliberg” it was pretty foggy and when I went out of the train, I was still surrounded by fog. I was not able to see the train station after only a few meters.

PANORAMIC VIEW

However 5 minutes later On top of Zurich on the Uetliberg, I was above the fog and able to see the spectacular view. I spent around 2 hours on top of the Uetliberg and took photo after photo. The panorama was just insane, and the fog was moving fast. It was fascinating to look at that scenery. The best thing of all that was, that there were not as many people as I expected for a Saturday morning. When I arrived at the top, it was around 8:30 am, not even that early anymore. But I was almost the only person on top. Only a few people went there by bike. I already was twice on the Uetliberg in the past. This time I decided not to go to the tower. But if it is your first time, I recommend going to the top of the tower to have an even better view. Two hours later, I started to go back with many photos in my pocket and the feeling of a successful Saturday morning.

If you visit the Uetliberg in Zurich, you also can take a break at the Restaurant on the top. For more informations check out the official website of Uetliberg.
