Lightning Network News and Good Reads from the Week

1.) According to a study released by Longhash on April 29, 2019, the relative usage of CoinJoin out of all bitcoin transactions has tripled in one year, currently sitting at 4.09 percent

2.) Blue Wallet now lets you receive bitcoin lightning payments with a few taps of an Apple smartwatches

3.) Fidelity Investments will be launching a service for trading bitcoin “within a few weeks” that will focus on institutional, not retail, customers

4.) Nobel prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz is calling for a shutdown of cryptocurrencies

5.) The Casa team launches 2-of-3 Basic Multisig for Gold Casa Keymaster members

6.) Pieter Wuille publishes a proposal for Taproot

7.) Binance exchange experienced a security breach where hackers were able to steal 7000 BTC

8.) Blockstream’s Liquid Network has expanded to include 14 new members. With these additions, Liquid’s client base now boasts 35 institutions. The company also announced that Liquid is now available on Bitfinex and RenrenBit, a crypto finance app

9.) Lightning Labs releases lnd v0.6.1-beta. It’s a minor release following 0.6 including a number of bug-fixes, optimizations, and stability improvements

10.) Eclair gets a major release update to v 0.3 that includes a new API, tor, auto backup, plugins, bitcoin core 0.17 and more

11.) Ride the Lightning gets a minor release with v0.3.1. New features include the ability to open private channels, routing hints for private channels with invoices and the ability to hash plain text passwords in the conf file

12.) Blockstream Satellite and goTenna are integrating their technologies to make it easier to send bitcoin transactions with the technology used to onboard people without direct internet connections

13.) Fulmo and Elizabeth Stark are working together to put on the first ever conference just for the Lightning Network in Berlin

14.) HTC, announced today that it will be releasing a new smartphone, The EXODUS 1s, that will have full node capabilities for the Bitcoin blockchain. Having the full blockchain stored will allow users to be able to verify transactions through their device

15.) You can now link your own node to Tippin

16.) BTCPay Server was updated v1.0.3.96 that includes support of PBST in wallets/send. BTCPay also updated their full node page to add wasabi Wallet
