How might we open source Cultural Technology?

I think it’s far more appealing to design and otherwise imagine “open source culture” using actual open source tools where the rubber meets the road (and where they don’t meet requirements, see that as a call to action to improve them!)… few of the tools mentioned pen source (Loomio being a noteworthy exception). Not Github, not Google Docs, not Murally, not InVision, not MS Office (for producing DOCs). I’ve written about “open is about intent” (https://davelane.nz/nethui-insight-open-about-intent) — I’d love to see more open source intent in this noble OS//OS endeavour. We can’t change culture until we accept (deeply) that closed is not as good as open.
