Not all companies are a fit for venture capital. You state there were “over 1.5 million businesses owned by Black women. These businesses generate over $44 billion a year in revenue.”
So, these companies produce about $30,000 per year. Most VC funds are looking for companies that can generate (at least) $50 million within the first five years.
Helping people understand the differences in capital sources will save them a lot of time. If you’re pitching to VCs with a startup that doesn’t meet the profile, the answer is always going to be no.
If you have a business that doesn’t fit the VC profile, there are other capital sources.
