Father, what do you want me to do?
So many time I have asked God, “Father, what do You want me to do? If You just show me what to do, I will do it.”
I was a doer. As long as anyone show me what need to be done, and I did my very best to do it right. What frustrated and confused me was when I did something right and it still did not work. Or, it worked, but I did not get credits I thought I deserved. I had not yet learned that “they labor in vain who build it” (Psalm 127:1)
John 6:28, they wanted to know what they needed to do to please God. Jesus answer to these people “This is the work that God asks of you: that you believe in the One Whom He has sent…” (John 6:29)
God asks us to Believe.
We are called “believers” not “achievers”. God has works for us to do, but belief and faith must come first and works will follow. When done in faith, works are easy and God gets credit.
