Todd, thanks for your input — this is something I’ve been mulling over a lot.
I worry that my chosen degree wouldn’t provide me with the work I’d need. That being said, I do think I could benefit from college — It would be really fun to study my interests, although I have to take debt into consideration for sure — which falls into the “is it worth it” debate.
I feel like, without college, I’ll lose some opportunities that I might want to pursue — teaching English abroad, for example.
I hear what you’re saying. College used to be an affordable outlet for people to learn, but it has become a completely whack system.
I’ve managed to escape the idea of needing to go to college directly out of high school. For now, I’m trying to figure out what I want to do with my life and then apply those ideas to the college debate — I’d also need to get a pretty kick-ass scholarship to afford it.
Definitely all food for thought that I will continue to think about (maybe too much).
