This sucks.

But I have a feeling it’s not just the tech industry. In fact, I bet it happens in other industries more often than tech.

The world isn’t fair to women. If anything, compare to medical and academia (because I’ve been there), I think tech is actually more careful about women’s experience (or at least it’s definitely trying to be).

I am lucky, because I don’t think I’d survive socially and professionally in other industries due to my interest for pole dancing.

And honestly, this point upsets me so much. Why should pole dancing be stigmatized. It’s a freaking sport, just like other sports. It’s hard. It requires so much strength. Sigh. Maybe one day we’ll live in a world where people can appreciate pole dancing for what it actually is:

ART AND SPORT.

Unfortunately, it’s not a battle I can fight or win alone, but victory is not achieved with retreat and silence either.
