An Open Letter to my workplace

3rd December 2017.

To the PSS administrative, teaching and civil staff and all relevant members of the educational institution:

This letter serves as an accurate account, written using quotes by various individuals to describe the deceiving, disgusting and toxic environment that the administration of PSS routinely and without fail subjects its employees.

To the Head of the institution:

“When each man sets his house in order, the whole world will be in order.” — John Andreas Widtsoe

“Leaders who practice favouritism in the workplace have no chance to build a culture of trust.” — Robert Whipple

“Sometimes I can’t figure out if I’m in high school. Oh wait I’m at work.” — Unknown

To my Head of Department (the defender of those under him… hopefully but not really):

“An employee’s motivation is a direct result of the sum of interactions with his or her manager.” — Bob Nelson

“Bad leaders care about who is right, good leaders care about what is right.” — Simon Sinek

“A bad leader can take a good staff and destroy it, causing the best employees to flee and the remainder to lose all motivation.” — Unknown

“There are some people that are just like jellyfish; no spine, no brain and can easily be seen through.” — Jesse Neo

To the administrative staff and the teaching staff:

“Let’s gossip and complain about how our co-workers aren’t doing their job, instead of doing ours.” — Unknown

“Blaming others is a subconscious mechanism for avoiding accountability.” — Dr. Steve Maraboli

“I wonder if people can taste the bullshit as it spills out of their mouths.” — Unknown

“Narcissists have no boundaries. They feel entitled to say whatever they feel is true, and litter their opinions, whether it’s rude, hurtful or not true at all. They will then get angry when you defend yourself and blame you for causing “drama.” — Anonymous

The following are my reactions and responses to the “drama” created and entertained by administration (also written in quotes by various individuals):

To a Higher Power than us mere mortals:

To the Head of the institution:

“Scientists say that the world is made up of protons, neutrons and electrons. Hell, they forgot to mention morons.” — Aunty Acid

To my Head of Department:

“Details of your incompetence do not interest me.” — The Devil Wears Prada

“If you had once lost the trust of your people you will lose their respect forever.” — Abraham Lincoln

To the administrative staff and the teaching staff spreading rumours:

“Sorry that doing my job with a slight amount of competence has highlighted your incompetence.” — Someecards

To my squad and myself:

“When a toxic person can no longer control you, they will try to control how others see you. The misinformation will seem unfair, but stay above it, trusting that other people will eventually see the truth just like you did.” — Jill Blakeway

“Three things to never surrender at the workplace: 1.) Your dignity; 2.) Your character; 3.) Your passion.” — Ty Howard

“It may take me longer to get to the top but that’s because I’m carrying my self-respect with me.” — Anonymous

“After you finally stop being bullied at work, you will grow strong enough to be able to look back to see how far you have come.” — Unknown

To myself:

“Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth.” — Unknown

Yours Truly,
A hardworking but very disgruntled temporary worker.
