OUR VOICE

When I’m looking at the Twitter account of a journalist’s one thing I tend to look for is someone who’s live tweeting quickly and accurately and sounds and looks like they’re at the event (either with pictures and video teases). I like to see that they are active and interacting with some of their followers. Some journalists I came across while doing some research don’t live tweet at all. I really like following Glenn Greenwald. I like the content of his tweets mainly because they’re about areas in politics that I’m interested in. During the 2016 election, find Glenn mainly tweeting about what’s going on on the democrat side. He’s also very interactive with followers and will reply to tweets. I like his voice, he generates thought amongst his viewers

Example of his page

I don’t really like Anderson Cooper’s Twitter account. He live tweets a little bit but I wonder if because he’s so established he doesn’t need to live tweet.

When I google myself I get really bored. My Twitter account comes up, which is private, I’m not sure how that looks to future employers. Also I wonder if there’s some rule against Twitter names, I mean I’m sure they can’t be awfully inappropriate, but are funny ones okay? My handle is lilyeatsfood, pretty factual information if you ask me.

In the images category my picture pops up but so do the photos of other girls by the name of “Lily Elmore.”

Is that your real name

My Facebook doesn’t come up because I’m under the name “Lily Elmstreet.” I did that purposefully so future employers can’t find my Facebook. There isn’t any scandalous content on there, but tagging can get you in trouble.

I wonder if future employers will be confused on who the real Lily Elmore is because lots of content comes up when you just google a single name. For example a vine pops up on the search, the woman in the vine isn’t me. How would any person know that?
