I stumbled into Medium this morning, just a couple of hours ago. I couldn’t even remember what article that got me here but that doesn’t matter because I was totally mesmerised.
The first thing that struck me when I was reading the article was how elegant the whole site looks. Then gradually I found more and more hidden features that makes the experience of using the site very pleasant indeed. And the next thing I wanna do was to get an account, start play a bit more with it.
And now I am writing some silly article about it…
And I am still very mesmerised.
There are quite a lot of well designed websites these days, but Medium stands out not just for it’s great aesthetics, but also the useful tools that they provide (very well hidden, but easily discoverable as necessary) to writers to express and tailor their stories in a way that is beautiful and engaging. Medium is a very apt name indeed as they are acting as the perfect medium for people to share stories and ideas.
I have played around with blogs for quite some time before and I think Medium takes this to the new level. Or not, because it just doesn’t feel like a conventional blogging site. I feel like a pro writer when I write here (even though I am not…). And that’s cool. I think.
