我們觀賞一幅畫的時候,能直接抓住其總體結構──但是我們在小說裡必須以想像構造每一個樹，逐漸穿越廣袤的森林，這樣我們才能到達總體結構，獲得那種「超越時間」的美。
是這種將把要走的一整個自行摸索出來的路徑變成圖畫的慾望，決定了往寫字或是畫圖的路走；又或許這種不想要讓人一開始整個摸清你的企圖的頑性，自然走向了目前的狀態。
