DJ Skilz Returns to the DJ Scene with a New Twist

Rick Rocco Loisi, also known as DJ Skilz, is making a comeback in the music scene after a 14-year hiatus. Born and raised in Flushing, Queens, New York, Skilz was inspired by the city’s break-dancers, great music, and DJs, which led him to take up DJing as a hobby at the age of 13. His passion for scratching on turntables led him to relentlessly practice in his basement for hours on end relentlessly, eventually becoming an essential part of his DJ career.

In 1996, Skilz relocated to Las Vegas, where he met the owner of Limelite DJ Supply, who introduced him to American DJ, a company that sponsored Skilz and named two DJ scratch mixers after him. From there, Skilz showcased the following lineup of DJ gear at various DJ conventions worldwide, including the Consumer Electronic Show, the National Association of Music Merchants, and Musikmesse in Germany.

As a resident DJ at Club Rio in Las Vegas from 1996 to 2004, Skilz gained a reputation for his scratching skills and was later invited to be the resident DJ at the Aladdin Hotel and Casino, which eventually became the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino in 2006. However, in 2007, Skilz decided to take on a new career in law enforcement as a correctional officer, putting his DJ career on hold.

After a long hiatus, Skilz returned to the music scene in the summer of 2020, using social media to promote his music and brand as “The Scratch Enforcer.” He continues to work in law enforcement while actively posting on his social media pages, including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. Skilz’s songs and albums are available on all platforms, including iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, and iHeartRadio.

With his passion for scratching and his dedication to law enforcement, DJ Skilz is a force to be reckoned with. He continues to inspire and entertain people with his music and scratching skills.
