5 Tips for Removing Digital Distractions

Give yourself some room to breathe

As helpful as tech can be in our lives, it can also be a huge distraction.

Scrolling the feeds, endless notifications, text pings, and the rising count of unread emails all overwhelm and distract us from the more important things in life — like family, friends and fun. You do remember what fun is, don’t you?

So how can you be more intentional about cutting down your tech distractions?

Here’s some experiments to try:

Tip #1 — Use the Do Not Disturb setting on your phone.

You can also turn off the ringer or completely shut it down for a while. Blocking off some quiet time each day without the insistent interruptions will give you some space to breathe and maybe even take a nap!

Tip #2—Take a social media vacation for a week or two or longer if you dare.
