Trust Your Heart — Not Your Mind
It’s almost like we are running a race. I hear over and over again from my clients and friends that they are struggling to keep up with the speed of life. I feel it, too.
When we are racing through our days we lose the guidance of our hearts and are more likely to make unconscious choices that do not serve us well.
Because, our hearts process things much slower than our minds.
Not sure you believe it? Try this:
- Picture the following things in your mind in quick succession: A dog, flower, car, beach, and elephant.
- Now, try to feel these emotions at the same pace: Love, anger, fear, sadness, joy, and peace.
See what I mean. Your mind moves much faster than your heart.
Have you felt it? Your heart trying to catch up with your mind or being completely lost along the way?
Your mind is running the show, but it’s running blindly without connecting to the most powerful source that keeps you grounded in who you are and what is right for you.
Most of us have an intention to live and make decisions from our hearts. We want to consciously choose what we create in our lives and know that letting our heart guide us is the best way to make that happen.
But, we have to slow down so that we can hear what our heart has to say.
It makes you wonder:
- Are you making the best choices?
- Are you living authentically?
- Are your values represented in the decisions you make?
- Are you running amok? Or, off track?
- And, are you really operating from the deepest source of wisdom within you?
The way to be sure is to allow time in your daily life to reconnect with your inner knowing and let your heart guide you. All of the answers are there if you just listen.
And when you do, a sense of peace will be present in your days. There will be confidence in the choices you make and you will feel grounded in authenticity while connected to your higher self.
You will be living a heartfelt life. A life of feeling peaceful, grounded, and full of love.
So, let your heart steer your course and use your mind as a tool that supports what it tells you.
Just imagine what might be possible if you did!
What would you feel, be, do?
It can all be yours just by taking time to listen and letting your heart guide you.
