Traveling thru the backroads of western Montana Wyoming and Colorado in 1989, took a picture of the Courthouse in each small town. It started as a whim and became a project. No noticed a trend.

No matter how small the town, every single town had a massive edifice called the courthouse. And each one of those impressive rock hewn buildings displayed two things: a date (1886 on average) and the Freemason symbol of a meeting hall.
