Humans in Space: A Reading List

On your reading list about humans in space, I was surprised to not see Kim Stanley Robinson’s speculative fiction: Red/Blue/Green Mars trilogy. Aside from the hard science about adapting to off-world life (terraforming), he has thought hard about the sociology of humans, our relationships to each other, nationhood, ethnicity… He has thought about post-Earth humanity, studied contained life in Antartica as an example of what living in hostile (to us) environments would be like, and is a good addition to this list.
