On Being a Trans Woman … Who Doesn’t Pass

I’m glad to hear this take on things. I used to feel uncomfortable hearing and seeing trans women trying so hard to be what I considered ultra feminine. For the most part, ciswomen don’t go the ultra-feminie route. We don’t have long wild hair, tons of makeup, sky high stilettos, and we don’t walk with exaggerated hip movements. I would bet the vast majority of us want to appear clean and presentable but are perfectly comfortable wearing jeans and and a shirt. I hope more trans women will relax and just be who they are without feeling they have to “prove” how sexy and irresistible they are all the time. Self-confidence is a turn on regardless of how you look.
