My love for Figure Skating started at the age of 3. I grew up in a very small town and everyone figure skated or played hockey, because there wasn’t much else to do in the Winter. I loved the feeling of accomplishing new goals and the freedom and creativity I was able to feel on the ice. Figure skating has always been a positive outlet for me, even during the hard times. Being on the ice is like being at home and it brings me so much joy.
It is through my own passion for figure skating that I wish to spread my love for the sport onto younger generations. I find it very satisfying to see my skaters improve and enjoy themselves on the ice. As a coach I strive to always bring the best out in each one of my skaters and hope they will develop the same joy and love that I have for the sport. Overall, skating helps develop a strong work ethic, focus, purpose, self respect, discipline, healthy body image… etc. I am genuinely grateful to have skating be part of my life and to be able to share my passion.
