Like the Wave

Above is a woodblock print called “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” by Japanese ukiyo-e Artist Katsushika Hokusai

The image above tells many stories. I have always found this image appealing in every stage of my life so far. It always seems to leave me questioning what I can do better for myself every time I see it. I once saw it tattooed on the arm of a musician I respect a lot. He was teaching the art of improvisation. Free jazz as some call it. This image reminds me of free jazz. What, with the peaks of the waves so violent.. yet they seem soft because of the texture of the image. It drives me insane. The colours take me to another place. A dark place that I don’t always enjoy to visit. But this isn’t all of the time.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
