A few sheets of paper covered messily by pieces of charcoal and other drawing implements.

“Analogous”

Like memory,
Taken shape,
Easels do distort.
Geometric settings fade,
Leaving personal report.

A simple sketch, hatched
From the shade of long ago.
Light collected,
Drawing up,
To pin down that distant form.

Over-saturate the color, wheel
Out the cool and warm.
Add weight to darkened pattern-rhythm,
Organic memory not had before.

Author’s note: I am very new to poetry, so comments and critiques are welcome!
