PHILADELPHIA — President Obama made a fervid plea for Hillary Clinton at the Democratic Convention, on Wednesday, casting her as a steward of his legacy while rejecting the Republican message of fear.

According to CNN, Obama sought to describe the country as headed firmly in the right direction despite the protestations led by Donald Trump. The president believes Clinton is a better qualified candidate than he or her husband, Former President Bill Clinton, had been when they sought office.

The president insisted that “America is already great”. “America is already strong. And I promise you, our strength, our greatness, does not depend on Donald Trump,” Obama claimed. He argued that the two Democratic terms weren’t enough to finish the work he had started, but he has confidence that the “Democratic Party is in good hands”.

Detailing Clinton’s record, Obama said Clinton knows what it takes to occupy the Oval Office. He claimed that until you’ve sat at that desk with tough domestic and international decisions you don’t know what it is like, but “Hillary’s been in the room; she’s been part of those decisions”.

Meanwhile, according to Obama, Clinton’s rival, Donald Trump, is “merely ginning up fear to secure votes.”

The president described Trump’s agenda as a “divided crime scene that only he can fix”. Obama believes Trump is only offering slogans and fear in order to scare enough people and score enough votes to win the upcoming election.

According to Politicususa, Obama “used his bully pulpit and completely destroyed everything about Donald Trump at the Democratic convention”. The president rejected Trump’s view of America by claiming, “The America I know is full of courage, and optimism, and ingenuity. The America I know is decent and generous.”

The president claimed that the message at last week’s G.O.P. convention gave a deeply pessimistic vision of a country that turns against each other and away from the rest of the world. “There were no serious solutions to pressing problems — just the fanning of resentment, and blame, and anger, and hate,” Obama said.

Obama insists that “there has never been a man or woman more qualified than Hillary Clinton” and that Trump is the “fanning of blame, resentment, anger and hate”. Now it is up to America to decide.
