I’m white, and I live in rural Tennessee, so I probably meet the technical definition of “cracker” as well, and I was not offended by that Tweet in any way. She made a joke about an uncomfortable situation- last time I checked that wasn’t a death penalty offense.

And white people say stuff like this all the time about being nervous in majority black or Latino neighborhoods, and generally, so long as they don’t actually use the N-word or other racial epithets, no one really thinks much about it.
