Old Town: a little slice of heaven with a lot of character. Whether you’re a local or a newbie, here’s a look at the people and personalities you’ll find nestled in Fort Collins, Colorado.

1. The Coffee Sipper:

Sipping on a chai latte and admiring the world around you is a common activity here in Old Town. If Starbucks isn’t your thing, Old Town is home to some of the best local coffee shops. Folks around here take advantage of the excessive outdoor seating and 300 days of sunshine, always making sure to have a coffee in one hand, and the local Coloradoan paper in the other.

2. The Peacemaker:

Whether it’s green peace or a piece of the government, there’s probably someone there asking you to join the cause. There are constantly peaceful protesters and petitioners taking over the corners of Old Town. One hundred signatures later, they will give you the freedom to roam, but until then, you’ll find our friends with a clipboard in hand, ready to pounce on the next passer-by.

3. The Hand Holders:

Old Town sets a whimsical and romantic scene for lovebirds all around. And If you happen to be here in the winter when the Christmas lights are twinkling in the trees, you can’t help but bump into couples strolling down the streets, hand in hand.

4. The Wanderer:

Old town is filled with twists and turns to peek your head around. If you happen to find yourself walking down a colorful alleyway, you’re a wanderer just like the rest. There’s a multitude of murals that liven up the tattered brick walls of Old Town, making this little corner of Fort Collins a great escape for inspired artists and curious minds.

5. The Dog Lovers:

With 84 restaurants in Old Town you’re bound to walk past a couple of good ol’ dog lovers enjoying a patio scene. They love those pups just as if they were their children, and make sure they’re in attendance of their favorite Old Town spot as well. With so many comfortable and dog friendly places, it just doesn’t seem right to leave man’s best friend at home.

6. The Bikers:

Limited parking is rarely an issue for Fort Collins locals. Fort Collins was ranked 7th friendliest biking community in the nation, and it is apparent around every corner you turn. You’ll see them dodging through cars, jumping curbs and walking their bikes down the sidewalk (always following the rules and regulations of biking of course).

7. The Busy Bees

With so many local stores and restaurants, hundreds of people make the route towards Old Town for some well-earned cash. The CSU campus is just minutes away from the quaint little area, so you’ll be sure to find some college students busting their butts behind the counters of Mary’s Mountain Cookies or Damn Good Tacos.
