This really resonates because I’ve done my own taxes since I was a teenager,* but I just married someone who doesn’t understand why anyone would DIY. On the one hand, my taxes have always been pretty easy. On the other, he has some investments I’ve never dealt with before. We’ll probably pay someone to do them, and I’ll just have to get over the feeling that only lazy people don’t do their own taxes.

*I paid to have my taxes done once after a friend convinced me that a professional would get me a larger return. I gave my previous year’s taxes to the recommended CPA, came back a week later and was told, “Yeah, you should just do your own taxes. I did them the exact same way you would’ve.”
