Commonwealth Avenue, Boston Massachusetts — July 12th

In the midst of a typical college-life in BU lies a peaceful square carpeted by vast green short chopped grass trickled with rainwater from the night before caressing your ankles when trudging across the square. Students who have a couple hours off gear up with their spandex and Nike sneakers pumping their fists as they jog to burn off some of their guilty pleasures from the dining hall. Once in a while these determined students flick their direction towards their wrists — a reflex action to make sure they haven’t under achieved their number of steps they want to obtain.

A minute or so pass when the sun begins to dazzle its light rays upon the overlapping concrete pathways that meet at the center of the field forming a pentagon, so picturesque it could be laid out on a map. The soft clinking sound of metal becomes more frequent as a chestnut Labradoodle quickens its pace walking with swagger as he drags his owner along the sidewalk past dozens of colossal trees. The Labradoodle momentarily stops and ponders in front of a pair of female students perched under the tree with notebooks on their laps. The puppy sticks out its tongue and wags its tail, as he is being pet.

The rustle of trees and chirping of house sparrows tends to lull those lying across the grass soaking up that Vitamin D, to sleep. Other than enjoying that time out of a crammed conference room, pedestrians gaze lazily towards an abstract piece of silver art — a monumental whale twisted and curved like a pretzel but rather has a texture of hard armour. To complete the impeccable stretch of land, a finishing touch, a prominent smoke grey cathedral marks its property.
