POKT Network, Liquify and the Road to RPC Decentralisation
POKT Network is an open protocol that empowers developers with reliable, performant, and cost effective RPC access to the open internet. POKT Network functions as a relay network for API requests to major blockchains. By decentralising the RPC infrastructure that all Web3 apps need in order to function, POKT Network has been a major boost towards a more robust blockchain ecosystem. POKT Network is working hard to fulfil its vision and its recent V1 upgrade has been another milestone towards this end goal.
The collaboration between POKT Network and Liquify goes way back. Liquify is one of the largest validators within the network and has authored its validator stake-weighted servicing rewards. As an Infrastructure-as-a-Service provider, we currently are hosting the POKT Network snapshot service. Liquify is proud to run only full bare metal servers and we have the mission to help the crypto community get off of its cloud reliance. Supporting decentralised RPC networks like POKT Network aligns well with our own ethos and we are therefore delighted to be one of the POKT Network’s Gateways, cementing two years of community support within the network.

POKT Gateways Ensure Resilient RPC Access
To access POKT Network and its diverse set of RPC providers, there were two Gateways (access points) through which users could connect. In order to further decentralise the full POKT Network, there has been a push to build out more community hosted Gateways and make sure each component of the network is as resilient as possible.
Liquify was selected as one of the two new Gateways and has been building an open-source plug and play gateway on-boarding kit for any prospective gateway operators. This Gateway Kit will simplify a gateway’s integration with the protocol, lowering the barrier to entry for new gateways.
The POKT Open Gateway by Liquify will contain:
- A plug & play user-facing interface with user authentication and admin functionality
- Account creation and account management features: access control, login, password reset, email confirmation, basic email notifications
- Endpoint management
- Grafana-based dashboard with endpoint tracking and analytics including: usage, uptime, regions, latency and so on
- Reverse proxy setup to send requests to the gateway kit server
- API documentation on integration and general tips on how to use it
Liquify’s goal is to help and support RPC market decentralisation, back up POKT Network and allow potential operators join the ecosystem at a lower cost and effort.
