Whatever happened to the cheekbone conduction tech to replace earbuds entirely?

The tech utilizes our BONES to conduct sound vs sticking a bud (germy bud) into our ears and damaging out hearing.

The tech was to transfer sound vibrations thru the cheekbones directly to the inner ear bypassingthe cochlea
