So you survived your first not going back to school day? It was kinda fantastic wasn’t it? You had the morning all to yourself. You woke up extra early to watch the sunrise and write in your journal. You did yoga and ate a homemade smoothie with green stuff in it. Ya, I didn’t do any of these things, either. I did write in my journal and stretch out my achy bones a bit but I did not get up before dawn. I ate an english muffin with a lot of peanut butter and jam, and I didn’t go for the morning stroll I had planned.

Sometimes you wake up to find a bird flies into your kitchen, and is stuck in your skylight, so you have to go out to the garage to find a bigger ladder and something to catch the bird with. Of course the bird has pooped all over your kitchen, and it’s friend tried to rescue it and flies into your front window. So now you are chasing a bird out of your house and scooping up it’s dead friend to throw it in the vacant lot beside your house. Then, of course you have to clean your kitchen, return the ladder, badminton racket and lacrosse stick to the garage — and what was I doing before all that happened? Oh right, planning my perfect day.

Sometimes your day doesn’t start out as planned, and you have to see the bright side of the chaos.

Sometimes your day doesn’t start out as planned, and you have to see the bright side of the chaos. I got as many steps on my Fitbit and I swung a lacrosse stick and a badminton racket! That’s a win in my books! Tomorrow I will try for the perfect day, but until then, I have a great story to tell my grandkids.
