Thoughts on the Go: Disappointment at the Gallery

A two floor exhibition on radical women in art that just misses the mark.

*Thoughts on the Go posts are generally shorter than my regular posts, this is because I am writing while in transit.*

Right now there’s an exhibition on at Mumok, Vienna’s modern art museum, about radical female artists. Although really dissapointing, but not entirely surprising, the exhibit portrays works that are very white and very cisgendered. Almost no representation is given to women of colour or women who aren’t cisgender.

Like really, an entire floor dedicated to the sexuality of thin, white women. Pfft.

I hope, if anything, that this exhibit is this inspiration for critique pieces coming from women who don’t have the privilege that I do.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?
