3 Reasons Why Baked In Ads Are So Great For Podcasts

Many podcasts are opting for advertising that is dynamic, meaning an ad can be switched out any time in any podcast. If new content or a new promotion comes out, the advertiser can put in that content whenever they’d like. “Baked in” ads are incorporated within the show and will live in that show’s content forever. There are three reasons why baked in ads are so great for podcasts.

Maintain Flow

The great thing about baked in advertising is that it is truly a part of the show. It’s unique because the host has the opportunity to make it their own every time. Random ads that pop in with a different sound or different voice can almost be jarring to the listener, whereas if the host naturally pivots from the topic of conversation into the ad, there’s less of a stuttering and abrupt change for the listener.

Personal Experience

Dynamic ads won’t have the personal experience attached to them the way baked in ads do. If someone used the product yesterday and loved it, that is going to reflect in the ad when the host talks about it. If there was a new product added to a line, the host can elaborate on their new experience. This is a huge selling point for advertisers.

Different Every Time

The great thing about baked-in ads, as they are part of the show, the host can do them differently every time. Maybe a co-host chimes in, or a guest. This enhances the ad read even further preventing the listener from tuning out.

At the end of the day, podcasts are going to choose what works best for both them and their advertisers, but there is a little more enhancement with baked-in ad reads from podcast hosts. The flow goes along with the show’s tone, there’s a personal touch with the experience they themselves have with a product or service, and every time the ad will be different keeping listeners engaged.
