Mozerella.. My new best friend

Determined to stop looking at my map constantly; I planned my route from the hotel towards the Arno.

Surprisingly I didn’t get lost. Stopped at the Duomo for a long gaze again. Obvs.

Crossed the already heaving Arno. Shops featuring beautiful jewellery either side of the bridge. I resisted. You would be proud.

Palazzo Pitti ahead of me. A towering 15c palace. It could take a while to get round this.

My first destination – the Palatine Gallery and the Royal apartments. Never seen so much gold. Frescoes adorned with the stuff. The rooms just continued, paintings and furniture laid out before me.

Costume gallery which reflected fashion from 18c until the 20s. Yep Sal. There was a Chanel 💕

I was unsure about going into to the modern art gallery next. When you’re in this Renaissance city – surely you don’t want to waste your breath in modern art?

Wouldn’t exactly call in modern. It was 17c onwards. Well worth a stroll around.

So yes, another break now befalls me. Cappuccino and a rather delectable looking pastry. Even the birds around me are interested.

After my break; which I wish I had met bothered with as the coffee was €7!! I undertook the mammoth task of climbing up into the Boboli Gardens.

At this time I want to go into Miranda speak “boboli…that’s a good word…BOBOLI”

The gardens were beautiful and from this I walked down a very steep hill through Cypress trees to the Piazza di Michelangelo, where obviously, there is a replica statue of the famous David.

Navigated the local bus route and bought a ticket back over the Arno.

I was weary, don’t want to admit it folks but I was shattered.

Reluctant to do it.. I made my way back to the hotel for a few hours of rest, Campari – obvs and a conversation with the hotel cat -Pino.

Thought it would be a good idea to have a look in my Baedeker for restaurant recommendations instead of wandering. aimlessly tonight.

Still with a mind to ensure u go to all the places before I leave, I planned my evening walk along via degli avelli. Home to many a designer boutique and not doubt a higher class of human. I should fit right in!!

Nearly went into Tiffanys. I resisted.

Am now sat in a sublime restaurant – Obika -famous for its mozzarella. http://m.obica.com/portal/US/en/search.php?loc=43.771719164666436%2C11.25167812531644&citta_locate=0#/portal/IT/it/location/ristorante-firenze/tornabuoni/

The food is truly special. Tim – you would hate it!!!

A trio of everything mozzarella. Prosecco. I

Using my favourite word of the holiday. Perfetto!
