What if overcoming a fear of horses is easier than you think?
Are you scared and insecure around horses, not knowing what to do when you are near them?
When we decide that we are afraid of something, it’s very common not to challenge those feelings. It’s more comfortable to avoid the situations we fear rather than make a change.
We might have heard the saying: face your fears. But quite often just the thought of doing so will bring up many different feelings, none of which are enjoyable.
In a Conscious Horse Conscious Rider (CHCR) class, we get to be with horses all day long. Not everybody who attends the class is a horse person that loves and adores these amazing big animals. There can be a range of mixed emotions as everybody chooses this class for their personal reasons. Over the years, several people who wished to overcome their fears and insecurities around horses have attended my classes, in the hope of getting closer to them.
If we look back in history, animals have always been a part of our daily life providing transportation, food, security and much more. However, these days we grow up in cities and towns without much contact with horses, cows, or sheep to name a few. Since we’re not used to being around these animals, we create negative feelings to keep them at a safe distance.
