It’s His Collar that I Need

More and more these days I find
it’s his collar that I need,
to wind around my untamed mind

The hollow at my throat
is just an empty space
that feels naked when adorned,
with some golden thread or lace

It’s his collar that I need,
even in the light of day
Would it matter if they look askance,
or hurt to hear what they might say?

The collar is a symbol
of this sacred part of us,
It’s how we live, and play and love,
The time it took to build our trust

It’s his collar that I need now,
before him on my knees

To earn it I bend to his will
Learn to serve,
to give,
to please.
