Possible involuntary manslaughter charges are being considered after two people died and two were injured following an accident due to running a red light in Springfield Monday afternoon .
The deceased, James and Martha Westhaver, were hit causing their car to roll three times on the corner of Ninth and Elm streets. James, 55, was president of the Merchants National bank, a chairman of the United way and a treasurer of the Chamber of Commerce. Martha, 60, hosted a talk show on KTGG.
James West, 43, and Samuel Blackwater, 32, suffered injuries. West incurred a broken leg while Blackwater broke both arms and his nose. Thus far, police have only ticked West for imprudent driving.
b.
After a running a red late on Monday afternoon two Springfield residents are dead, two are injured and one of the injured is charged with imprudent driving and possibly involuntary manslaughter.
The deceased are identified as James Westhaver, 55 and Martha Westhaver, 60. James Westhaver was president of the Merchants National Bank, chairman of United Way and treasurer of the Chamber of Commerce and his wife hosted a talk show on KTGG. James West, the driver, broke a leg and Samuel Blackwater broke both arms and his nose.
