When was the last time you thought about the amount of the stuff you own?
How much of it do you actually use? Did you ever think of how many
hours you need to work in order to pay for it all? When was the last time you bought something completely unnecessary?

We all have been taught to obsess over buying more and more stuff.
This habitual behavior draws us into the trap of always being on the hunt for stuff but never really feeling satisfied.

At what point do we realize that all that stuff isn’t really adding as much value to our lives? What if there is a better way to consume, a better way to live?

What is Minimalism?

Minimalism is a tool that can help you live a happier life without being dependent on next purchase, control your financial expenses and most importantly- living a peaceful life. Decluttering and living like a minimalist can be the key to being happier and feeling more fulfilled.

The basic promise of minimalism reducing your possessions to the least possible amount, each of the items you own has to add real value to your life.

3 Easy steps for the beginner minimalist:

1. Make a list - Before you start the journey of minimalism- stop for a minute. Ask yourself some important questions: what do I really need? What bothers me? What do I hope to achieve with this journey- Is it financial freedom? Getting rid of bad my habits? Answering those questions with honesty is crucial in order to succeed in the next steps

2. Declutter - Decluttering your home is the most important step for a becoming a minimalist. The reason is that decluttering is the fastest and easiest way to feel how easier it is to live with less. When your house is a mess- it is easy to feel stressed out. Can you imagine how much calmer you would feel if your house was clear and neatly organized? When we get rid of unnecessary stuff we are letting go of things we were holding onto. Decluttering gives us freedom and makes it easier to breathe.

3. Change your habits - Minimalism is not about stopping to consume, consumption is a part of our life. It’s when you’re driven by compulsive consumption that it becomes a problem. In order to keep our house tidy and
free of new unnecessary stuff, we have to learn to say no and except the fact
that not everything that is pretty has to be ours and create more- If we spend more time creating, we will spend less time consuming.

Life is not about consumption. It’s about our passions, relationships, experiences, being here and now. Find out what you really need, what is really important to you and start to live a richer life with less.
