Lean Into The Wind: A form of expression & representation led by faith in ART.
For the longest time, art has been one of the most powerful forms of visual representation. Thoughts, emotions, expressions, business branding… Both art and the artists play key roles in bringing these things to life.
What about Web3? We believe, that art is the simplest and most digestible way to communicate to the general public the vast array of potential that blockchain technology holds.
“Lean Into The Wind” is a generative glitch art collection, designed to bring life to a sketch of the human base model. Therefore representing the beginning stages of an artists creative process, while noting the infinite possibilities of the resulting work.
The production of this collection began in June of 2023, as PAPA7 (Founder & Creative Director) was sitting in a local cafe practicing sketch work in hopes of being able to launch a collection some day. In the midst of a creative block he had a breakthrough; concluding that the base human sketch itself is actually the purest and most relatable artistic figure. It is naturally unisex, and anyone can use it.
There he recruited the incredibly talented “Coso”, a self-taught Artist & Animator in order to help bring his vision to life.
Why the name? Why “Lean Into The Wind?”
From Late 2022 — Mid 2023, NFT collections were dying off. The bear cycle of crypto had no end in sight. Community sentiment deteriorated as those who were financially focussed saw no solace in Web3 any longer. And Web3 gaming was gearing up to take the spotlight.
Crypto has historically had its incredible ups and devastating downs. But art has been the only thing that remains true. It is the gateway that captures our attention, and directs it towards the beautiful things that are being built within blockchain technology. As an art collection LITW is a representation of the faith held by the builders and artists that never stopped working, knowing that crypto would indeed return to better days.
With that being said…. Lets talk about utilizing blockchain tech to bring art to life! How will we do that?
“SOULS OF THE WIND”
We know of the phrase “dynamic NFT collection”… Talented creators have constructed use-cases revolved around adding new and interchangeable traits such as a hat or shirt. We have also been introduced to mechanics that are transformative in a sense, evolving your NFT into something upgraded or entirely new. Our approach on dynamic art is a bit different.
Our aim is to bring art to life… We want to give it a soul.
So how do you make a collection dynamic without compromising the integrity of the art?
As mentioned towards the beginning of this article; for the past 8 months we have been working on a way to deliver a collection that represents people. Sometimes we feel happy. Sometimes we feel sad. Sometimes we want to wave, or show someone we are upset.
Shortly after the release of LITW we will be launching. “Souls Of The Wind.” Designed to deliver a dynamic and interchangeable experience without forcing holders to sacrifice the style or look of their NFT. Depending on the type of soul you have you will be able to apply that as an emotion or expression to your “Windy” PFP. You can collect souls, and cycle the expressions depending on your taste…
In closing, our goal here is to deliver tasteful high effort pieces of digital fine art that are tailorable to your emotional state. In doing so, we hope to demonstrate as the great dynamic art creators before us did; one of the many ways blockchain tech can be utilized.
