Assessment 1B: One minute film.
The way I did my Assessment 1B is put four frames with different charactersin same screen which started form Mike Figgis. Mike Figgis(1999) said that he took advantage of the technology to create an ensemble film shot simultaneously with four cameras all in one take and also presented simultaneously and uncut, dividing the screen into four-quarters. There is strong comparison in four stories and each of them have totally different sound to show out where they are and what they are doing. Because I pretty interesting with the mid-night life, so I decided to find four stories in George Street and mix them up in this technology.
I spend 4 day in mid-night George Street and found 3 strangers. I asked them whether they allowed me to take one minute video for them. The first one is a homeless people in the George Street. He had no home to go and only can sleep on the street. He was keeping complaining the society and government. The second one is a taxi driver form Hong Kong. He was keep focus on driving while i taking video. The third one is a stuff in McDonald’s. She is keeping working in the store. The last one is myself and brush my teeth. All videos are taken in mid-night. I use all video view in four videos and divided them with distance between my camera and the characters. The film I want to show is four different people’s life in midnight. I don’t want to make the voice crowded together so I put them come out one by one. I also add the time code in the middle to showing out what the time is. Each of the video shows out the characters perfectly display their life in the mid-night.
