For most, the start of the work week usually consists of copious amounts of coffee, and symptoms of ihatelife. However, what about for someone who doesn’t believe in cases of the Mondays?
Bilal Morris, a.k.a Blogzworth is that exception. A once considered undersized Division I wide receiver at Lehigh University, Bilal always found a way to self-motivate. Perhaps the best example of this is a tattoo he wears as a daily reminder that asserts, ‘never never never give up.’

If I had to select one word to describe Bilal, the only suitable locution would be: inspiring.
Bilal’s unique style and bright rhetoric was a discovery he made after his introduction to media and journalism, through a high school internship at Giant Magazine.
With the decline of print in media, Giant honed in on developing Bilal’s skills via blogging and developing web content. A purveyor of hustle, Bilal used to carry his laptop to every event he attended, in order to write articles on the spot. But that wasn’t all — he was also editing and emailing his résumé to influential people he would meet along the way. That practice eventually caught up in 2008, when Bilal gained the attention of The Managing Editor of The Source Magazine at a Day26 listening party in New York.

Although he ultimately would not land the Source job, Bilal did send the Managing Editor articles every. single. day. Which, subsequently got him published in 5 straight issues of the magazine. More importantly though, a lightbulb was sparked. Bilal realized that his self-motivation transcended beyond just his own daily life, and he began to positively affect and galvanize his peers.
Cue his first self published book, The Notebook of Destiny. The workbook started out as a social experiment where Bilal would send friends and family 1 page prose of inspirational proverbs. Demand spiked, and it became apparent that he was providing a service that was well respected, especially when friend, artist Tash Leake convinced Bilal to publish in 2013.
Since then, his vision has manifested into his current brand #BESTDAYOFTHEWEEK, and his Social Media Etiquette Tour is continuing to spread across campuses throughout the nation.

#BESTDAYOFTHEWEEK began in the boardroom. Inspired by his Pop Warner football coach who used a similar motivational tactic through call and response, Bilal became the ignition to daily corporate meetings that wouldn’t begin until he entered the room.
Today, Bilal is the Director of Social Media Strategy at multimedia conglomerate, iHeartMedia; a testament to his nonstop work ethic. So turn on the radio, it’s the best day of the week.
