2023: A Year to Get Fit, Get Organized, and Become Your Best Self

With the new year just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about what we want to accomplish in 2023. One goal that many of us share is to make this a year for wellness and personal growth. Whether it’s getting fit, getting organized, or simply improving our overall well-being, there are plenty of opportunities to make 2023 a year of positive change. In this post, we’ll explore some of the best ways to start the year off right, so you can make the most of the coming months and reach your goals. Let’s get into it!

Getting Fit In 2024

The start of a new year is the perfect time to get serious about your fitness goals. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, build muscle, or just become more active overall, getting fit in 2023 is all about taking small steps toward long-term success.

Start by setting realistic goals that are achievable but manageable. Celebrating the small wins helps to continue to motivate yourself on this journey. This can also apply to all aspects of your life! You work up today! You saw a flower! Your favorite show is on! Everything is worth a celebration.

Working out and being active is only half of it. It is important to take time to learn about nutrition and how to eat for your goals. Eating healthy meals full of protein and good carbohydrates can help fuel your workouts and keep you energized. Eat good fell good. Investing in some basic kitchen appliances such as a blender, food processor, or slow cooker can also be helpful for creating balanced meals quickly and easily. When I first started my heath journey I learned to love cooking. I loved my slow cooker because I was able to create healthy meals while I was still going on with my day. I would throw in some chicken and rice and then go to class and come home to a perfect meal. Here is a book with some easy recipes too!

If you need some help in the motivation department, consider working on finding a friend to start being active with! There are also plenty of online resources that provide great tips and advice on working out. When I first started on my fitness journey I would go on YouTube to find easy workouts that aligned with my goals. Don’t push yourself too hard in the beginning. When we don’t see results right away it can be easy to become frustrated and give up. Consistency is key.

Finally, find an activity that you enjoy and stick with it. If you don’t like running, try swimming or cycling. If lifting weights isn’t your thing, look into yoga or Pilates. Finding an activity that you actually enjoy doing is key to staying motivated and making progress. By taking small steps, setting realistic goals, eating right, and finding an activity that you enjoy, you can make 2023 the year that you finally reach your fitness goals!

Getting Organized in 2024

Organized people have an easier time managing their daily tasks, schedules, and responsibilities. It can be difficult to stay on top of things when life gets busy, so taking the time to plan out your day and goals for the future can make life a lot less overwhelming. One of the best tools for staying organized is a planner. I personally love a bigger one so I can fully take the time to plan out my life. Using colors and making it visually appealing can make it easy to stay on track. Here is my current favorite one. If you are a more artsy person consider a bullet journal. This gives you the freedom to design your own template. Many people will also use their bullet journals to plan meals, track their habits, log their sleep, etc. Here is a bullet journal stencil that makes it super easy for beginners to set up and design their pages!

Using a planner can help you keep track of events, appointments, and tasks that need to be accomplished throughout the year. You can also use it to set and track goals that you want to achieve! I like to write my goals down on a future date to see if and when I have achieved them.

Tips for Being Organized:

  • Create a daily or weekly to-do list. This will help you prioritize your tasks and make sure you’re on track.
  • Break down large tasks into smaller, more manageable steps. This will help you stay focused and make progress. Making visual notes of each step can help you achieve these goals as well.
  • Keep your workspace free from clutter.
  • Set reminders for yourself on your phone or calendar. This will ensure that you don’t forget important tasks or appointments.
  • Take regular breaks throughout the day to recharge and refocus.

Why You Should Be Organized:

I feel this is a very simple idea that we seem to forget. Being organized helps keep you focused on your goals and gives you more control over your time and energy. Staying organized also means less stress and less time wasted trying to find things or figure out what needs to be done next. And finally, being organized can help you achieve your goals faster, giving you a sense of accomplishment and confidence that will help you succeed in other areas of life as well. It sounds mundane, but it is important to remember why we do what we do. As humans, it can be easy for us to fall into the same routines.

Living Well In 2024

As we enter the new year, self-care is essential for starting 2023 off on the right foot. To practice self-care, it’s important to first recognize what is causing you stress. Once identified, ask yourself if there are any aspects of this stressor that you can control. If so, work towards changing or managing those elements and focus on what you can do rather than worrying about what you cannot. For a very long time, this was something that I struggled with. Something that helped me get out of a negative space was to remind myself of what I am grateful for. I particularly used this anxiety journal, but there are tons of other options out there!

The one thing we all need to change in 2023 is the fear of failure and the fear of what people will think. So many people fear rejection but we must view everything this year as a learning experience. When it comes to achieving goals, being scared is a sign that you’re growing. There is no better time to make a change than now — so stop waiting for the perfect moment before taking a leap.

Finally, be sure to treat yourself with compassion and kindness throughout the year. Give yourself grace and take things day by day. Self-care includes taking breaks from work, getting enough rest and exercise, and engaging in activities you enjoy. Make sure to set aside time for yourself and your mental health — you deserve it!
