why is this so hard?
Freddie deBoer

While I appreciate the call for a less polarized perspective of the world around us, many of these statements are ironically reductionist.

shouldn’t people of dominant Western culture be willing to participate in the conversation suggested when it comes to mansplaining, etc.? it is an opportunity to learn and improve oneself should the opportunity be seized. Frankly, anger is a natural reaction to daily microaggressions and the climate of genuine violence that marginalized people live within. Demanding control over their reaction is just that: controlling and dominating.

just what are the negative consequences of professors having extremely specific trigger warnings for students suffering from PTSD according to that legislation? I would suggest that these people, survivors of violence and war, would be better equipped to enter the learning environment at the very least.
