Bravo, Tina (60 Weeks to 60 — what an “InGenius” idea ;-))
I recently deleted the Facebook app from my smartphone and don’t miss it one little bit. Other than an occasional look at Twitter, which I understand folks are leaving and I may well do too, the only “social media” I bother with on a regular basis is LinkedIn. I agree with what you say about the value of news sites. My online reading matter — which I thoroughly enjoy in addition to the print magazines — are Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, and the Economist. I’ve never really understood who has the time to monitor all the social platforms available these days. Presumably kids in school/college that should be focused on their education and employees that aren’t engaged with their work. For those of us that are self-employed, they are a huge time- and energy-suck. But, then, I was brought up (in the UK) not to care if I was popular or not. And I’d rather have a deep conversation with a close girlfriend over lunch or happy hour than trawl through the banalities people I don’t really know (despite being “friends”) post these days.
Interested to read about your next challenge. Oh — but that means I need to be on Medium, right? ;-)
