Skateboarding consists of many trashers and aspiring skaters. One of many famous skaters is Rodney Mullen, who has been a trasher since he was younger. As young as the age of fourteen years old he won his first skateboarding event. Although his father didn’t support his passion at first he continued to persevere and become one of the best. I believe Rodney is a great example of pushing for whatever your dream is because it can lead to big things. Because of his passion when skating he gained many sponsors and opportunities in the skating world. His commitment to the discourse encouraged him to create tricks that are used knowingly now.
Rodney’s creativity allowed him to create many tricks that are used by skaters around the world. Skating isn’t only a gateway but to some, it’s also a sport and there are many competitive tournaments. I think that his creativity and knowledge of the sport are what helped him become who he is today. He is so successful in what he does because he loves what he’s doing. I see him as an inspiration honestly, to push myself in a thing that I enjoy doing because it can get me big opportunities such as Rodney. Since he is personally a skater he is able to create products that cater to the community. Because of his experience, he understands what it is that's best for the discourse. All of his passion and determination pushed him to be the best version of himself and others should look at him as a role model.
