Insecure S3.03 + S3.04 — Breaking habits
Spoilers below for Insecure S3.03 — Backwards-Like & S3.04 — Fresh-Like

Covering the past two episodes of Insecure because I wasn’t able to watch last week and what a roller-coaster these past two weeks have been for the crew.
Issa and Daniel were really getting somewhere…until they weren’t. After a week of platonic sleeping in bed together, the obvious happens. Issa & Daniel get into a fight and start making out to make up. Of course, that doesn’t work and the relationship sours. Luckily, Issa had taken the property manager job, so she was ready to move out.
I’m glad we’re not coming back to Issa & Daniel as a thing. This season is about knowing better and doing better — Daniel may be cute, but he’s not better. Just like Lawrence, I think we might have seen the last of Daniel, which is good for the story, but sad for our eyes.
Issa’s new love interest is Nathan from the Party Lyft. After she runs into him at the taco place, they spend the day together exploring LA and sharing secrets. It’s nice to see her be completely open and new. New apartment, new Issa — time for her to start fresh. That’s why it doesn’t come as a surprise when she quits her job. We Got Ya’ll was another too-familiar place. It’s time for Issa to do what she loves.
Molly is also starting fresh at her new black law firm. While she was excited to have all black co-workers, she is starting to find faults in the firm. She starts to feel isolated and ignored, making her unsure of herself as the star she knows she is. She’s frustrated that it seems like the same issues have followed her to this law firm.
So, she starts to make alliances. She focuses on the two female partners, trying to get on their good side. This seems to be working until they see that she’s been doing the same thing with the loud male partner who she was using as leverage to connect with the women. She might have shot herself in the foot with this one.
I’m excited to see where Issa’s new apartment, boo, and job bring her. I’m also excited for the girls to go to Coachella in what I can only assume will be an episode reminiscent of Season 1’s Malibu. I’m hoping Beyonce makes a cameo.
